The Cryptidery was created by my almost 12 year old son, Steven. Everything you read and download from this site comes from his imagination. I turn his sketches and notes into the colouring pages you download, edit the blog posts and manage his online presence, and his dad helps him plan the story arcs, but none of it would exist without Steven. He spends hours and hours telling me what is going on in the world of The Cryptidery, planning blog posts, inventing creatures and making detailed sketches with all sorts of notes.
I’m really proud of what he’s started here, and I’m excited to see where it’s going.
Half of all profits from The Cryptidery will go into Steven’s RESP. Currently, he plans on studying zoology when he grows up. It’s not the first idea he’s had, but he thinks it will be the last, and I won’t be surprised if he’s right. He’s never been a big reader, but these days he usually spends his free time pouring over his dad’s old animal encyclopedia, reading articles about animals online or drawing and taking notes about animals he’s read about. Even if he changes his mind again, I’m sure he’ll find something he loves, and his RESP will help him get there.
